The L series has long been the benchmark for grade 1 mortise locks. Beyond strength and security, it offers flexibility to meet most needs. Sixty-one mechanical functions include ten non-levered small- and large-case deadbolt functions and nine electrified functions that are regularly used as part of electronic access control systems. L Series locks have the ability to suit across electronic, tubular, exit trim, and multi-point locks to integrate seamlessly into any environment. The series features an array of security options, including patented, 180-degree high visibility lock status indication trim, key override of a thumbturn being held, and support for multiple keyway families and cylinder types, including Primus XP high-security cylinders.
Features:
- Tested and certified to ANSI/BHMA grade 1 operational and security standards
- UL listed for a 3-hour fire door; spring-loaded fusible link inside lock case provides a fail-safe mode in case of fire
- Deadbolt features include an anti-saw pin in the bolt to prevent cut-through
- Security blocking hub prevents lock access by removing levers
- Vandlgard option allows the outside lever to rotate freely down to prevent damage from excessive force while in a locked state
- Lock monitoring options include request to exit (RX), latch bolt (LX), door position (DPS), and deadbolt (DM) (availability varies by function)
- Patented Everest 29 S123 Keyway is provided standard, which prohibits unauthorized key duplication
- Restricted, geographically exclusive Primus upgraded security options offer advanced key control and exceptional physical security
- Two-piece anti-friction tongue in latch bolt reduces wear
- The breakaway spindle keeps the door secured in the event of vandalism
- Field reversible latch bolt allows a hand change without opening the case
- Every Schlage lock undergoes intensive testing to determine its ANSI grade level, including: cycle, resistance, door impact, warped door, and bolt strength tests
